Classroom Management

The teacher can fill this jar with cotton balls or marbles each time they notice the class is being good (quiet in the halls/class, good job during a lesson, etc.) and when the jar is full the class gets some sort of reward (no homework for a night, cookies, etc.). This emphasizes the good things the students do  instead of always pointing out the bad and gives them incentive to behave!  I had something like this in my 4th grade class and as a student I thought it was great as positive reinforcement!

Great Site!

This stoplight is great for monitoring students' behavior in the classroom.  I had one in my first grade classroom, each time a student acted out they moved their clothespin to yellow and if they acted out even more they moved it to red.  When the student reached red they had to "sit on the wall" at recess and could not play.  I would definitely use this in my classroom!
(This site has other great classroom ideas)

Phonics

Alphabet Song

This song is a great phonics song for kids learning the sound of each letter-- the video also has great visuals that match each letter.

Concluding a Lesson

Concluding a Lesson

By having the students fill this sheet out after a lesson the teacher gains knowledge of what each student took out of the lesson and what they are having difficulty understanding.

Fractions

This site offers a great idea for  introducing and working on fractions as a class then having the children work on fractions by themselves.

Play Dough Recipe

This playdough recipe can be used as a math/science lesson.  This teaches students how to use proportions in math and learn how those proportions in the mixture make the dough as a science lesson.   After the dough is made the students have a fun product to play with!

Math Games

The games on this site are a good way to get students to not only practice what they have learned but also play games and work with each other.
